Latest Sony PSP-3000 gets disassembled…

As you will know the new PSP-3000 barely shows any physical difference from its predecessor, the most obvious finding if you were given one to compare is that you would see it’s got a better anti-glare screen.

This probably further makes people wonder what’s going on, on the inside which makes Sony think it will be better than the previous. Folks at PC Watch couldn’t resist this temptation to disassemble and dissect it into pieces to get to the bottom of this, below are just a few pictures taken from their massive gallery:

Basically here’s the verdict:

  • There isn’t much new here
  • The screen has been replaced with one that has five times the contrast ratio, twice the color range, and a refresh rate that is twice as fast
  • Other than that, there’s a built in microphone
  • And a mystery “PS” button
