3 April 2008 4 Comments

It’s official! The latest N810 WiMAX which was much spoken about on many blogs earlier last month has now been confirmed at the CTIA in Las Vegas! It currently remains unpriced, but we do know for a fact now that it will be running the latest updated OS: OS2008, which features enhanced e-mail client, support for Chinese character rendering in the browser and RSS feeds as well as “Seamless Software Update functionality” to boot. The best is, once OS2008 is available, current N810 / N800 users will get to upgrade to the latest OS for free!

So what are some of the specs on the new N810 WiMAX? Well we now know for certain that it will have a whopping large 4.13-inch touchscreen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard (picture above). Also built-in webcam for video calls, Mozilla powered browser (Yeah! :)), you can also use it as a sat-nav as it is equipped with integrated GPS / media player, 2GB of internal memory and a microSD expansion slot. Access to the internet can be done via WiFi or via conventional cellular data networks by pairing to a compatible mobile phone via bluetooth.

I find with things like this that they are all very clever but so ugly to look at.

I agree it’s probably not the prettiest thing in the world. With devices like these, I would probably just use it as a sat-nav or a device for the internet in my car! Because there is no point in trying to fit this in my pocket for daily use! Thanks for your comments guys.
